Photoshop tends to be a little like a Neiman Marcus catalog. If you like the look of a single image, chances are that it works well in other combinations with other images in the same way as this image works with a few others in Figure 6-3.

The unique thing about the Levels dialog box is that it also offers other controls other than the brightness and contrast adjustments, including hue, saturation, and color balance.

Here are some things to keep in mind when using the Levels tool:

When adjusting contrast, start by using very light and very dark values first. Then, gradually increase the contrast so that you don’t overdo it and turn the image into a cartoon.

For chromatic (color) balance adjustments, start by making lighter or darker colors blacker or whiter. You can then adjust brightness and contrast to see where the colors get out of balance.

The Levels dialog box has the following controls in the Order box:

• Tint, Hue, and Saturation: These three controls allow you to work with the lightness, saturation, and color balance.

• Black Point: This control adjusts the location of the black point, so it’s handy if you’re working with a color image.

• White Point: This control adjusts the color of the white point, so it’s handy if you’re working with a grayscale image.

• Color Curves: This control, as the name implies, allows you to adjust the color of the entire image

For example:
Today is January 13, 2018 and the previous value is January 12, 2018.
The difference should be 2 days. The closest date is January 5, 2018.

I am trying to replicate the PHP Data Mapper pattern with a database, but I need some assistance understanding what I am doing. I have a schema and database I am communicating with, and can easily connect to it using PDO. I have read a number of other resources to get to this point, but I am still stuck. Here is what I have so far.
